A sheriff's deputy in Henry County, Georgia, came up against the law in a matter involving rank.

The deputy came across a speeding car that was traveling 60 miles per hour over the speed limit while on duty.

He immediately turned on his lights and stopped the car.

He was surprised to see two of his coworkers inside the unmarked

Dodge Charger when he approached the vehicle. Deputy Chief Michael Yarbrough of the Sheriff's Office was one of them.

After a brief exchange, the deputy went back to his car and called another officer to express his surprise. Guess who I just pulled over, he said.

The head deputy was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger.

a modified Dodge Charger that belongs to the sheriff's department. This son-in-law was recently timed at 96 in a 35.

The deputy mentioned that he didn't particularly like the Deputy Chief when debating whether or not to write a ticket.

The county has placed Chief Deputy Yarbrough on indefinite leave as a result of the event.

Yarbrough should not have received a citation because he was on duty and had his lights and siren on while driving, according to the Sheriff's Office.
