Hero Down: Grady County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chase Stinson Dies In Motorcycle Crash


Oklahoma's Norman In the early hours of July 10, Deputy Chase Stinson, a 26-year-old law enforcement officer, met a tragic end in a motorcycle accident while not on duty, leaving the Grady County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) inconsolable.

 

According to The Express-Star, Deputy Stinson was heading home with his brothers when the tragic incident happened due to an unlucky curve on the Lindsay Street ramp merging onto Interstate 35.

 

The collision's effects were fatal, leaving the young deputy with serious injuries.

 

The following day, Grady County Sheriff Gary Boggess released an official press release confirming the tragic news.

 

Sheriff Boggess announced, "With deep sadness, I must announce the untimely passing of Deputy Chase Stinson." " Last night, while riding his motorcycle, Deputy Stinson was killed in a single-vehicle accident. Deputy Stinson's separation from his cherished family and the close-knit Grady County Sheriff's Office is a complete tragedy.

 

According to his obituary, Deputy Stinson's participation in a police explorer program during his junior year of high school marked the beginning of his career in law enforcement and ultimately fueled his passion for it.

 

He then joined the Blanchard Police Department (BPD), where he diligently worked for five years until deciding to devote his time to the GCSO as a dedicated school resource officer three years ago.

 

"Embracing this role allowed Chase to combine his affection for law enforcement with his aspiration to guide and support students," the obituary eloquently described.

 

Deputy Stinson also had the honor of teaching people how to use weapons, proving his dedication to raising community safety.

 

His loving wife, Maria, and their young daughter, Hadlee, are left to mourn his passing.

 

In addition, Deputy Stinson is survived by a large number of friends, coworkers, and extended family members, including his parents, brother, in-laws, grandmothers, nephew, cousins, and uncles.

 

The death of Chase has left us all feeling "shattered," said Sheriff Boggess. I ask you to remember Deputy Stinson's family and our law enforcement family in your fervent prayers during these difficult moments.

 

A fundraising campaign was started to help Deputy Stinson's family during this difficult time after realizing the difficult circumstances they were in. Over $10,000 has already been successfully raised for the campaign.

 

Deputy Chase Stinson was laid to rest on July 13, saying a solemn farewell to a model citizen who left an everlasting impression on those he touched.
