Pregnant New York Police Officer Stabbed To Death Inside Her Home

Theresa Gregg, a police officer in Brooklyn, New York, was fatally stabbed with a screwdriver while inside her apartment following an argument with her boyfriend.

On May 13, the body of Officer Gregg, a 37-year-old police officer with the New York City Department of Homeless Services, was discovered in her apartment above a grocery store on Bedford Avenue.

After finding their mother's blood-covered body on the floor between her bedroom door and her bed, her twin daughters, age 14, phoned the police.

The girls reported that their mother and her live-in boyfriend, 35, had fought for hours the night before.

The following morning, they discovered their mother dead and called 911 right away. Officer Gregg was pronounced dead at the scene, despite their orders to perform CPR until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Officer Gregg had been stabbed in the head and face, as well as in the neck, arm, and upper body.

Next to her body, a bloody screwdriver was discovered. Officer Gregg was discovered to have been two or three months pregnant when she was killed.

No one has been arrested as of yet, but the investigation into the incident is still underway. The partner is not a suspect, according to the official statement.

In expressing their condolences to Officer Gregg's family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones, the New York City Department of Homeless Services Police Department recognized her commitment to helping vulnerable New Yorkers and their families.
